Description
To provide a required manual fire alarm system that includes sprinkler monitoring, fire pump/tank monitoring, elevator recall/shutdown, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, required automatic detection, fire department communication system and voice/evac notification throughout. The stairwells are pressurized utilizing supply fans on the roof with fire/smoke dampers that "fail open". 3/12/2006 - Only one fan has a damper, it has been changed to a "fire" damper only.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-02348) is to construct a new 182,950 square foot, twelve story concrete and steel framed office and retail, high rise shell and core building and related site improvements. This is a shell and core building only and no occupancy is allowed under this permit. Separate tenant improvement permits will be required to finish this building for occupancy. The core work to be completed under this permit includes the following: 1st floor - 15,640 sq. ft. The entire first floor, with the exception of the two retail tenant spaces, will be finished under this permit. 2nd floor (intermediate floor) - 6,310 sq. ft. - Open storage floor. 3rd floor - 16,200 sq. ft. The restrooms, corridors, elevator lobbies, conference center and break room will be finished under this permit. 4th thru 12th floors - 16,200 sq. ft. (each floor level) - The restrooms and elevator lobbies will be finished under this permit. There is a recorded ground and air rights agreement between the 10th and Bannock property, the property to the north and the City of Boise. The purpose of this agreement is relocate the assumed property line at the alley to 10'-6" from the 10th and Bannock north property line and to restrict the maximum building height on the north property to 60'-0". This agreement is for the purpose of determining the fire-resistive exterior wall and opening protection requirements for the north exterior wall of the new 10th and Bannock building. All fire sprinkler monitoring points including tampers, flows, tank and pump supervision tested today, main riser flow and tamper point corrected while on site, re-tested west stair fan for functionality on alarm, voice evac failed to function on alarm at the 6th, 10th and 11th floors today-have incurred problems with intermittent failure of the voice system on three separate inspections during this project.
