The associated building permit (BLD 04-02346) is to construct a new 22,315 square foot, two story, concrete tilt-up office shell and core building and related site improvements. The core areas include restrooms and janitor's closets on the first and second floors, entry and hallways, mechanical room and elevator machine room on the first floor; elevator and stairways. This is a shell and core permit only and no occupancy is allowed under this permit. Separate tenant improvement permits will be required to finish this building for occupancy. The 2003 International Building Code, Section 1019, Exception #9 is being used as an alternate to the 2000 International Building Code, Section 1005.3.2 to allow two open stairways in a fully sprinklered building.
