The associated building permit (BLD05-03058) is to create a 1,559 square foot office tenant space on the 7th story of an existing high rise building (19 total stories). To upgrade the 7th story core restrooms to be accessible to the disabled. To remodel the 7th story elevator lobby. The floor area of the entire 7th story is about 14,600 square feet. The "core" has a floor area of about 2,670 square feet. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, suspended ceilings, interior doors, interior windows, and finishes. The fire sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and high-rise life safety systems (and the infrastructure supporting these systems) for the 7th story are required to comply with the provisions of the 2000 IBC. Existing systems shall be upgraded where necessary, including the installation of quick-response fire sprinklers. If not already existing, fire-safing shall be installed at the perimeter of the 7th story between the floor and the spandrel glass. The work shall comply with the approved drawings, the plan review report, and all applicable codes.
