This will be the first tenant in the two (2) story building. The apartments are located on the second floor. A sprinkler monitoring system is existing. This permit is for a voluntary system based on IFC 2000; 907.2.9. the system is designed based on 907.2.9, exception 2 which states: "A separate fire alarm system is not required in buildings that are equipped throughout with an approved supervised automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1 or 903.3.1.2 and which have a local alarm that meets the notification requirements of 902.10.2.". Therefore, audible (per IFC 907.10.2) and single- or multi-station smoke detectors (per IFC 907.2.10) are being installed in the apartments.
The associated building permit (BLD 05-02815) is to construct interior improvements within two dwelling units (1,184 square feet and 1,125 square feet) located on the 2nd story of an existing 8,468 square foot building. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, suspended gypsum board ceilings, millwork, and finishes. The building shell was constructed under permit BLD03-02236. Compliance as Type A accessible dwelling units or as Type B accessible dwelling units is NOT required. New work is required to comply with the approved drawings, the plan review report, and all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW** (BOWN CROSSING MARKET PLACE - BUILDING A - DWELLING UNITS A & B) This building is fire sprinklered for code reductions, story increase, and for fire flow.
