This fire alarm permit is to install a fire alarm input module to monitor the status of the building automatic electrical transfer switch from utility power to generator power. Existing fire pump run input modules and a new control relay will be used to de-energize the electrical contactor that feeds power to the IT room electrical panel and shed the IT panel load. This operation only happens in the event that Main AC power is lost to the building, the generator is running and either Building 1 or Building 2 Fire Pump is required to run. Under that condition panel IT load will be shed. No building permit is associated with this work. An electrical permit is required for the electrical power changes made during this upgrade.
