This fire alarm permit is to install a new NAC expansion board for notification appliances and upgrade the fire alarm notification appliances on the 1st floor and 3rd floor corridors and public restrooms of the Mode Building. Building permit BLD07-00898 is to remodel portions of the 1st story and 3rd story of the Mode Building. The escalators from the 2nd story to the 3rd story will be removed and the 3rd story floor opening filled in. On the 3rd story, work is to include wood floor joists, wood floor sheathing, a corridor door, and a mechanical chase. On the 2nd story, work is to include a new guard where the removed escalators were located. On the 1st story, work is to include extending an existing 1-hr corridor to the outside, installing a new exterior storefront door and glass sidelight, altering the floor structure at the new exterior door to provide compliant landings on both sides of the door, and altering the floor structure to create a ramp to make the elevation transition between the existing interior floor level and the new landings at the new exterior door. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes.
