Fire sprinkler systems installed in warehouse type buildings commonly referred to as “Spec” warehouses; where storage heights of combustible materials are possible over 12'-0" elevation, (Reference IFC Chapter 23), but the exact commodity, height of storage and storage system is unknown; shall be designed and installed according to the following criteria:
A. Minimum fire sprinkler system design shall be for a Class IV commodity, to the maximum available storage height, allowing for in-rack fire sprinklers, with “High Temperature Sprinklers” installed at the roof. It should be noted that if the warehouse is used to store a higher Class Commodity, upgrades to the sprinkler system shall be required. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2006, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code.
