This fire alarm permit is to provide new extender panels, elevator recall functions, smoke detection, pull stations, and notification for the second phase of this tenant improvement.
Associated building permit: BLD08-01664 (ADA COUNTY BENJAMIN CAMPUS - PHASE II) To remodel an existing 89,534 square foot warehouse/office building in phases. Phase I covered 41,700 square feet of the east side of the building and Phase II will cover the remaining 39,377 square feet of the west side of the building. Work to include: [installation of new non-bearing interior partition walls to create, five accessible restrooms on the first floor (ten stalls in the women's, five stalls w/ four urinals in the men's room, and one unisex), two accessible restrooms on the second floor (two stalls in the women's, one stall w/ one urinal in the men's and one unisex), open office area, 36 offices, a DMV lobby area (with 23 counter stations) five group rooms, a large meeting room, employee lounge, and other miscellaneous rooms and spaces], new lighting, new plumbing, new doors in specified locations, installation of suspended ceiling system, installation of new mechanical system (grilles, diffusers, ductwork, and new units), miscellaneous related interior finishes, demo of existing metal lean to at the back of the building and accessible parking w/curb cuts at the front of the building. This building is fully fire sprinklered any alterations to the sprinkler system shall be maintained per NFPA #13 as regulated by the fire department. The design, testing and utilization of industrial steel storage racks shall be in accordance with the RMI Specification for the Design, Testing and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks. A separate permit is required if any racks over eight feet are installed. This phase will be given a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy until phase I is completed then a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued to the entire building.**TLW**

Need a map showing the entire system at the facp, repair the NAC trouble, test/inspect the elevator recall functions and per IFC 904.3.5 the clean agent suppression system is required to be monitored. See Monitoring.
Where a building fire alarm system is installed, automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be monitored by the building fire alarm system in accordance with NFPA 72.

No actual alarm testing was performed today but I did a walk through and found strobes overspaced and others blocked by walls, smoke detectors too close to supply air diffusers and the interconnection with the pre-action system had not been pretested and had problems. I marked the deficiency locations on the city approved plans.
