This quick permit is to remove all of the in-room smoke detectors to allow a contractor to add a layer of drywall, then the permit scope is to include re-mounting the smoke detector back in to the same location. This permit scope is for the east building. Work to include select demolition to provide new exterior exit door and change use of one patient room into a Lobby as part of the new exit system leading to the court yard. The existing Classroom across the corridor from the new exit access lobby will be remodeled to become a patient room, #17; for compliance with 2000 NFPA 101, regulated by the State of Idaho Bureau of Facility Standards, Health & Welfare, this building is being upgraded from Type VB to type VA construction at walls, roof/ceilings and penetrations of ceiling membrane; remodel of the existing MEDICINE 2 room, changing a portion into an accessible restroom to be shared by the two exclusion rooms; construction of a new MEDICINE 2 room; add new cabinetry, sinks, doors, hardware, exit signage and emergency illumination; and to secure the existing opposite swing double doors in the closed position and infill the opening at the door on the west building side with wall type W5 for 2-hour construction. At the new exterior door provide a landing and sloped (1:20 max slope) access path down to the secured court yard. The exit discharge into the secured court complies with section 408.3.4 with required refuge area beyond the 50' separation from the building. This is an existing "I-3" occupancy under the 2003 IBC as reviewed and approved by the State of Idaho Division of Building Safety, regulating premanufactured modular building systems, #PA 13398FB, Tag #10057FB.
