Plan Mod Scope:

Relocated sprinklers due to construction changes. Several areas are being entirely filled with noncombustible insulation in lieu of upright sprinklers.


Fire Work Scope:

The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of three wet systems and one dry system in an existing school. Part of the basement system is existing. The building is three floors with an attic. There are numerous areas with above and below fire protection. There will be new 6" C900 underground installed to the building with and outside PIV. Several remote areas were calculated with 3000 sf. due to concealed combustible construction. The sprinklers for the most part are SSP and SSU. The attic utilizes smaller k-factor 4.2 sprinklers. There is a crawl space that is not sprinklered. Therefore there can be no storage in the crawl space.

(LOWELL ELEMENTARY) Remodel of an existing 41,741 sq. ft. school building, exterior site accessibility, additional parking and structural upgrade & connections as per engineering & per approved plans. Work includes select structural & interior finish demolition for the express purpose of removing asbestos, lead containing materials and finishes and to upgrade accessibility between floors within the building and from the exterior school site to the interior of the building and the public way to the school grounds; and to install a sprinkler / alarm systems throughout. Scope of work includes removal of doors, hardware & finishes; remodel administrative offices, workroom & lounge; install new doors and hardware; construct new elevator, ADA ramps, upgrade security, lighting, HVAC & plumbing; construct new interior walls, millwork and finishes; and all associated site work all as indicated in the reviewed plans. Permit BLD09-00888 is also attached to the same set of plans for a 692 sq. ft. garage/maintenance building. drs CUP09-00019 - Modification
