This quick permit is to provide a change in scope of work for the area in phase 9 of the building. Rather than modify a staff training room, a files room area has been remodeled. This scope of work is to provide a/v notification in the new room created and audible notification in the remodeled corridor. There are no written comments, however there are redlines (please see plans). Associated building permit: BLD09-00945 (IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE) (INTERIOR REMODEL) (SOUTH BUILDING) (5-3-10 PLAN MODIFICATION TO CUT BACK THE SCOPE OF WORK FURTHER FOR ADDITIONAL COST SAVINGS. THE OCCUPANT LOAD FOR STAFF TRAINING ROOM 131 WAS REDUCED FROM 170 TO 105 BECAUSE THE ROOM WAS MADE SMALLER.) (3-25-2010 PLAN MODIFICATION TO EXPAND STAFF TRAINING ROOMS 237 AND 239, KEEP WOMEN'S RESTROOM 209 AS TWO SEPARATE RESTROOMS, KEEP MEN'S RESTROOM 210 AS TWO SEPARATE RESTROOMS, AND TO COMBINE SR FILE ROOM 227 WITH STATE MAIL 226. FOR COST SAVINGS, THIS PROJECT WAS RE-DESIGNED TO INCORPORATE SOME EXISTING CONSTRUCTION THAT WAS FORMERLY GOING TO BE DEMOLISHED. ELEMENTS OF SOME EXISTING TUNNELED CORRIDORS WILL BE MAINTAINED EVEN THOUGH THE CORRIDORS WILL NO LONGER BE ENCLOSED. HEADERS AT NEW WALL OPENINGS ARE REQUIRED TO BE SUFFICIENT TO SUPPORT THE LOADS.) Fire sprinklers used for building area increase and for code trade-offs. To remodel the interior of an existing 73,639 square foot building for the current tenant. Several existing restrooms will be upgraded to be accessible to the disabled. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, interior windows, millwork, finishes, and an exterior ramp. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. The fire sprinkler system is required to be upgraded to comply with current standards, including quick-response sprinklers, in order to avoid enclosed 1-hr fire-resistance-rated corridors. Elements of the existing fire sprinkler system that already comply with current standards may remain without upgrade. This building remodel will be done in phases. Occupancy of a completed phase shall be coordinated with the Structural Inspector and Fire Inspector. **CJW**
