Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of extending a 2” wet and a 4” dry system for a new wing. The existing riser is equipped with a 4” backflow preventer. The wet system will be installed in the attic and tented. The dry system uses special application sprinklers. The wet system is side fed and has 1¼” branch lines and main. The dry system has a 3” main and 1¼” branch lines. The 6” C-900 underground piping was rerouted around the new wing in permit FIR10-00509. The original systems were installed under permits FIR08-00293 and FIR08-00551

Plan Mod Scope:
Adding four sprinklers into new closets. Relocate four sprinklers due to the closets moving. Adding sprinklers in an overbuild area. Redesigned the sprinklers protecting the entranceways.

Building Department Scope:

The remodel is to convert one bedroom living unit #133 to a large studio unit and to enlarge dining room #116 by approximately 270 square feet. The additional square footage and occupant load at the dining room will change the occupancy group from a B Occupancy to an A-3 Occupancy. The addition portion of the project is to demolish and remove an existing porte cochere and construct a new is a 4,160 square foot, one story, wood framed, living unit wing edition of the southwest side of the existing assisted living building. The new addition will be connected to the existing building with an exit vestibule. The new addition will have six living units, four one-bedroom units and two large studio units. Many of the sprinkler pendants are obstructed by the light fixtures. Per the residential obstruction chart a minimum distance of 3' is needed.

The wrong upright sprinkler heads have been installed. The attice heads appear to be overspaced from the wall, in the attic, at the south end of the attic. The pendant heads in three bathrooms are not providing sprinkler coverage in the shower areas. The transition from 1 1/4" pipe to 1 1/2" pipe is in the wrong location. The additional elbows installed in the wet system are ok per tim. Todays inspection was just for the new south addition and not for any of the existing interior work.
