2-1-11: PLAN MODIFICATION (6 initiating devices affected)– this plan modification is to include previously excluded devices for HVAC monitoring/shutdown, revised plans and documents for the appropriate Fireman’s Hat Light in elevator recall functions, and incorporate a field change that adds monitoring of a PIV.

This fire alarm permit is to replace the existing fire alarm system. The system will monitor sprinkler system devices and perform elevator recall/shunt trip functions. No HVAC is shown as being part of this permit scope of work. If HVAC shutdown is required/provided, a plan modification shall be required.
Associated building permit: BLD10-01564 (OEC - OFFICE ENVIRONMENT COMPANY - AMERICANA) This building is required to be fire sprinklered for building area increase, for story increase, and for fire area. To remodel an existing building for a new retail sales and warehouse tenant. After the remodel, this building will have a 16,814 square foot 1st story and a 3,860 square foot 2nd story. Work is to include a single user restroom accessible to the disabled, a roll-in-type shower and a locker room accessible to the disabled, a new stairway to serve the 2nd story, a new floor structure next to the new stairway, new exterior walls, exterior windows, exterior doors, interior walls, interior wall infills, and interior finishes. This permit also includes removing about 11,500 square feet of the floor of the existing 2nd story and demolishing and rebuilding the long narrow section of building parallel to and adjacent to Americana Boulevard. Structural work includes new openings in existing masonry walls, shear walls, bearing walls, window headers, roof joists, column splice connections, and pilaster patching. This permit does NOT include the installation of storage racks. A separate permit for high rack storage is required. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances.
