Description |
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of revising a portion of the first floor. Two tenant areas are being combined into one. Sprinklers are being relocated and added to accommodate new wall and ceiling construction. The hydraulic calculations were revised to include a backflow preventer. The existing system is a grid with 3” & 2” primary main, 1½” secondary main and 1” branch lines. There is above and below protection throughout.
Building Department Scope:
Permit is to expand an existing 6,627 square foot 1st floor tenant into the entire 1st floor making them 17,910 square feet. This tenant will be vacating the 1,900 square feet they originally occupied on the 2nd floor under BLD07-03252. This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase. Approval contingent upon adhering to the approved plans on file. Work to include: [installation / demolition of interior partition walls to create additional open office area, six additional offices, and two additional storage rooms], installation of new lighting, installation of new doors / accessible hardware, and finishes in compliance with chapter 8 of the 2009 IBC. This building is fully Fire Sprinklered with an approved Fire Alarm system. Any alterations or modifications to the buildings Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm system WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT and shall be installed per NFPA 13 & NFPA 72 as regulated by the Boise Fire Department.**TLW**
Contractor’s Note: Scope of Work
The fire protection scope of work does not seem to correlate with the building department scope of work. This review is based on the scope of work indicated in the fire sprinkler application. The field inspector may approve the fire permit. However, the Certificate of Occupancy may be held and not granted until all fire protection work within the building department scope of work is verified. New drawings showing all the sprinklers within the building department scope of work are required to be submitted and reviewed.
