The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of providing a NFPA 13D sprinkler system for a new home. In addition, one row of sprinklers is required for the common wall between the garage and the home. The system is a 1” tree with a 1½” underground. The 1” riser is located in the garage.


Building Department Scope:

Permit for the construction of a new 3,200 s.f. two story (1st. story 1,250 s.f.), (2nd. story 1950 s.f.) single-family dwelling with approx. 486 s.f. of covered patio/porch and 825 s.f. attached garage. This house is located in WUI zone A and requires class A roofing material, non combustible siding and one hour fire rated soffits. A letter from the applicant’s geotechnical engineer indicating that the footing sub-grade is acceptable must be approved by Public Works prior to scheduling a footing inspection. The rough-in itself appears ok but extensive pipe routing changes have been made. Plan modifications are required. Per Tim Frost the sidewall head show at the garage door to the residence can be changed to a pendant. I verified that the pendant heads will provide coverage under the soffits in the living room and in the entry ways to the two bedrooms in the lower level. No tenting has been done yet. I let Don know that a approval for cover would not be given until the plans are re-approved and the tenting was approved. Also the backflow preventor installed is not the one that was submitted on. No underground piping from the street to the bottom of the backflow was inspected or even present.
