The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding, relocating and deleting sprinklers to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration in the northwest section of the building.


Building Department Scope:

(ST. MARKS CHURCH - KITCHEN REMODEL - NORTHWEST CORNER) Fire sprinklers used for building area increase. To remodel a 2,114 square foot area located within an existing church building to create a 1,318 square foot full service kitchen, 2 classrooms, and a hallway extension. The work is to include interior nonbearing walls, two grease hoods with grease ducts, a steam hood and duct, kitchen equipment, and finishes. Structural work includes new door openings in an existing bearing/shear wall, modifications to existing roof trusses, and support for the grease hoods. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**


Fire Sprinkler System Design/Spacing:

The existing pipe sizes appear to be adequate based on preliminary hydraulic calculations, even though the density would be increased from a .10 to 1.5 and the hose stream would change from 100 to 250 Gpm. New flow test is S-80, R-40, Q-2830, 07-15-11 The existing system has a 3” loop with telescoping branch lines.
