Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of a new wet side feed sprinkler system. There is approximately 118’ of 6” C-900 piping with associated thrust blocks and fitting. A 6” backflow preventer and straight gut riser will be installed. The cross main is 4” and the branch lines are 2”. The FDC is located on the opposite side of the building from the riser.

Contractor’s Note:
The building permit has not been issued at this time. The building department may determine that changes are required to the building plans in order to meet code. The changes may affect the sprinkler system. The sprinkler contractor will be obligated to make all necessary changes that may be required. Therefore, if the sprinkler contractor chooses to proceed without an issued building permit, they will do so on their own cognizance. This note does not constitute an early start agreement.

Could not complete inspection due to problems with the project related fire alarm permits. Also the outside alarm bell needs to be relocated to the side of the building where the FDC has been placed.

Not all of the branchline restraints have been installed as indicated on the city approved plans. Also the 2" riser nipples are shown at 1'-8 1/2" in height but actually measure just over 3'-0" and the riser nipple piping at nodes 14 and 15 as well as being taller, has a 1'-0" offset with an additional 2" elbow. Plans/hydraulic calculations need to be resubmitted for review due to the safety margin being nearly exceeded. All other items appear ok. The forward flush of the backflow easily passed.
