(ST. ALPHONSUS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT - TEMPORARY EXAM ROOM - 1ST STORY) The fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and for high-rise. To create a 1,252 square foot temporary exam room to be part of the St. Alphonsus Emergency Department. The temporary exam room is needed to facilitate the phasing of the Emergency Department remodel being done under permit BLD12-01914. The new room will have 6 beds and will be constructed within a shell space located near the Emergency Department. The temporary exam room will be within its own smoke compartment defined on 3 sides by smoke barriers walls having at least a 1-hr fire-resistance-rating and defined on 1 side by 2-hr fire barrier walls (i.e. an existing adjacent 2-hr exit passageway). The floor of the Temporary Exam Room and the floor above the Temporary Exam Room are also required to comply as smoke barriers. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
