Description
The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting wings A, B & C. The attic in building B is protected with concealed space sprinklers (please see figure 4 on drawing 4 for details). The above ceiling space in the main corridor of building B is enclosed in drywall, forming a noncombustible space (please, see cross section of wing b on drawing 4 for details). Therefore, sprinklers are not required in this above ceiling space. The majority of the remaining sprinklers are residential type. Small orifice sprinklers are being utilized for closets etc. The project piping is utilizing strap hangars to the structure to comply with the seismic bracing restraint requirements of NFPA (Any piping not strapped to the structure shall require additional seismic restraints per chapter 9 of NFPA 13.) The intermediate floors are composite wood joist; these floor joist spaces shall be fire stopped into 160 ^3 spaces (see NFPA 13: 8.15.1.2.6).


The Terraces of Boise - Main Building Wings A and B - To construct a new 50,285 square foot, four story, wood framed independent living apartment building. This is a wing of a larger building, with wings separated by two-hour firewalls. This building is being constructed on top of an underground parking garage. The parking garage is separated from the above apartment building by a three-hour horizontal separation. This building is fully fire sprinklered. The sprinklers are used for story increase. First Floor: 14,885 sq. ft. with 11 apartments. Second Floor: 14,785 sq. ft. with 11 apartments. Third Floor: 11,865 sq. ft. with 9 apartments. Fourth Floor: 8,750 sq. ft. with 7 apartments. All floors contain mechanical/electrical and housekeeping areas. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM
