The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protect a parking garage with two dry systems. All other work, including but not limited to the standpipe and wall hydrants are excluded from this review. It is anticipated these items will be reviewed when the upper levels are submitted. Dry system # 1is approximately 37856 ft^2 and is designed as a loop. Dry system #2 is approximately 25300 ft^2 and is designed as a tree. 6” underground piping supplies a 6” backflow preventer and 6” header. The header has the two 4” dry systems and a 6” combination standpipe.

The underground is under permit FIR14-00477

Lusk Apartments - (Structural Foundation including First Floor Podium) - To construct the foundation and first level concrete podium for a new approximate 253,650 sq. ft., four story building and related site improvements. This permit will also include site grading, drainage and underground utilities. The building will be constructed of concrete foundation with wood framed structure above. Work under this permit shall not proceed beyond the foundation and first floor podium until final approval of the plans and issuance of the next phase building permit. That permit has not yet been applied for. As owner or designated agent, I acknowledge that I am performing this work at my own risk without assurance that the permit for the entire building structure will be granted, and I agree to make any modifications to the foundation and building structure work as may be required to comply with the City Codes and the final approved building plans and conditions. Final inspection requested for parking garage permit, however noted dissimilar sprinklers (temp ratings) for several sprinklers located in the stair enclosures. Contractor agreed to inspect all and change out as needed to reflect proper temp. ratings per plans.

Test of all dry pipe system protecting the parking garage (x2), the attic (x2) and the clubhouse. The systems protecting the attic space on the south side, and the clubhouse tested OK. The other three (3) systems failed the 60 second trip test, and will require accelerators. All tampers tested OK. Low air for the dry systems also not tested this visit.
