Description |
The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of adding and relocating the sprinklers. The new sprinkler layout is to accommodate the remodel and comply with NFPA 13 standards. All existing mains and lines are to remain in place as currently installed. The existing earthquake bracing and hangers will stay in place.
Contractor’s Note:
The building permit has not been issued at this time. The building department may determine that changes are required to the building plans in order to meet code. The changes may affect the sprinkler system. The sprinkler contractor will be obligated to make all necessary changes that may be required. Therefore, if the sprinkler contractor chooses to proceed without an issued building permit, they will do so on their own cognizance. This note does not constitute an early start agreement.
(SOLA SALON STUDIOS - OWYHEE PLACE - 1ST STORY OF APARTMENT WING) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area, building height, and story increase. To remodel a 5,423 square foot tenant space for a new salon. An early start was allowed under permit BLD14-02329. This tenant space is located on the 1st story of the West apartment wing of the Owyhee Place building. Egress from this tenant space is directly to the exterior at grade. Studios will likely be sublet to different practitioners. Work is to include a new exterior double leaf door, 2 restrooms accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, interior glass sliding doors with fixed glass sidelights, interior glass side-hinged swinging doors, suspended acoustical ceilings, millwork, and finishes. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13, including quick-response sprinklers, as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
