The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of adding, plugging and relocating sprinklers to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration. All sprinklers are being changed to quick response type.
(NORTHPOINT RECOVERY - ALCOHOL AND DRUG TREATMENT CENTER) Fire sprinklers used for occupancy classification. To remodel an existing 5,349 square foot one story building to be used as a medically managed alcohol and drug treatment center for up to 22 adults. Free egress from this building for all occupants shall be maintained at all times. Occupants are not allowed to be restrained and free egress is not allowed to be restricted in any way. Services provided and medications administered are not allowed to render anyone incapable of self-preservation. Work is to include 11 sleeping rooms, sleeping room separations, 1-hr corridors, a 1-hr smoke barrier wall to create 2 smoke compartments, 1-hr fire-resistance-rated roof ceiling assemblies, a Men’s toilet/shower room accessible to the disabled, a Women’s toilet/shower room accessible to the disabled, 2 Men’s toilet/shower rooms NOT accessible to the disabled, 1 Women’s toilet/shower room NOT accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, millwork, and finishes. Structural work includes a new concrete footing for a new interior shear wall, a new interior shear wall with hold-downs to replace a removed shear wall, and upgrades to an existing shear wall. The proposed new roof top HVAC unit shall not weigh more than the unit it replaces. Special Inspection is required for concrete and epoxy anchors. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
