Rough to cover inspection for overhead fire sprinkler piping complete, overhead fire sprinkler piping approved for cover. Tenting inspection complete for overhead fire sprinkler piping located in attic spaces, overhead fire sprinkler pipe tenting approved for cover. Fire sprinkler heads in upstairs closets are located less than 24 inches away from heat register (fire sprinkler heads were ordinary temperature heads at time of this inspection). NFPA 13R requires ordinary temperature heads to be 24 inches from edge of heat source, 12 inches away for intermediate temperature heads, (NFPA 13R, Table 6.2.3.3.3) fire sprinkler heads will need to be changed to intermediate temperature and verified before final inspection. Fire sprinkler heads in main entry for all apartments have fire sprinkler heads that are less than 8 feet apart, NFPA 13R specifies a minimum of 8 feet between heads, the on site sprinkler contractor instructed that a surface mount light will be dividing the space between the 2 fire sprinkler heads, noted that distance of light below the deflector of the fire sprinkler head will need to be verified after light fixture is installed, if the light is not an obstruction then fire sprinkler heads will need to be relocated to code compliant of having a minimum of 8 feet between fire sprinkler heads.
