The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting the elevated concourse and associated areas per an alternate agreement. (See Addendum) Only a few small areas on the grade level have protection at the property lines. See addendum for complete clarification.
[BLD15-04468] - (BOISE CENTRE LOBBY EXPANSION, TERRACE, PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY, AND CONCOURSE) (DRH15-00462) Fire sprinkler systems used for high-rise and for occupancy. To expand a portion of the existing Boise Centre Convention building by constructing a 2nd story to create a vertical circulation route to a new elevated pedestrian walkway and enclosed elevated concourse that will connect the Boise Centre Convention building to the City Center Plaza building (3,603 square feet total). The floor of the new elevated circulation route will be located about 24 feet above grade, at the perimeter of The Grove. The concourse will be part of the Century Link Arena building. A terrace will also be constructed at the Boise Centre Convention building adjacent to The Grove. Work is to include an elevator, an escalator, two egress stairways, exterior walls, interior doors, and finishes. Structural work includes micro piles, helical piers, concrete footings, concrete foundations, steel columns, steel beams, a moment frame, a horizontal truss, steel pan deck and concrete floors, masonry walls, etc. Special Inspection is required for fabricators, steel, welding, concrete, masonry, soils, cast-in-place deep foundations (micro piles), helical piers, epoxy anchors, other post installed concrete anchors, seismic resistance, bolting, and spray-applied fire resistant materials. Post tensioned concrete slabs are required to be scanned to locate rebar, including tendons, before any holes are drilled. No rebar, including tendons, are allowed to be cut. Structural observations by the Structural Engineer of Record will be provided as noted on the drawings. The stairway design is a deferred submittal item. Property easements are required to allow construction within CCDC property. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural design, with the approved code alternates, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
