RELOCATE HEADS TO NEW WALL LAYOUT. CHANGE OUT STANDARD RESPONSE HEADS IN DISH ROOM TO NEW QUICK RESPONSE HEADS AND RELOCATE AS SHOWN

[BLD16-02135] - The fire sprinkler system is required because this is a high-rise building and because it is an I-2 Occupancy. To expand the dishwashing area by about 300 square feet from 574 square feet to 874 square feet. The expansion area was formerly a circulation hallway having no occupant load. The occupant load of the adjacent dining room or the adjacent kitchen will not change. Ceiling tiles, gypsum board ceilings, and light fixtures on the 1st story will be removed to accommodate the 2nd story plumbing work. After the work is completed, ceiling tiles will be reinstalled, gypsum board ceilings will be patched and repaired, and light fixtures will be reinstalled. Work on the 2nd story includes 1-hr fire-resistance-rated smoke barrier walls, interior nonbearing non-rated walls, a framed opening in a non-rated wall, a re-located 20 minute automatic-closing double leaf smoke barrier door (hold opens release by smoke detectors), suspended acoustical ceilings, new dishwashing equipment, and finishes. The existing 1-hr smoke barrier walls are required to be maintained or restored if deficient. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
