Contractor’s Note:
The building permit has not been issued at this time. The building department may determine that changes are required to the building plans in order to meet code. The changes may affect the sprinkler system. The sprinkler contractor will be obligated to make all necessary changes that may be required. Therefore, if the sprinkler contractor chooses to proceed without an issued building permit, they will do so on their own cognizance. This note does not constitute an early start agreement.

[BLD17-00849] – The fire sprinkler system is used for unlimited area of the building. To create a 36,243 square foot tenant space within a new 52,000 square foot building. Work is to include a tenant demising wall, suspended ceilings within the office area, gypsum board ceilings at the toilet rooms, a new 20 feet by 20 feet overhead door opening in the South exterior wall (former opening was 12 feet wide by 14 feet high), and bollards. Two existing exterior tilt-up concrete panels will be modified to accommodate the larger overhead door opening and new steel columns and beams will be installed on the inside of the wall to resist out of plane lateral loads. Steel plates will be installed to reinforce panel to panel joints above the enlarged opening. Special Inspection is required for welding and for post installed anchors in hardened concrete. The accessible restrooms and office area were constructed under shell permit BLD16-02176. The accessible drinking fountains and the service sink were also installed under that permit. A separate racking permit is required for racks over 8 feet in height. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
