[BLD17-00654] - The fire sprinkler system is used for fire area and for the multi-theater complex. To convert an existing 880 square foot retail sales tenant space on the 1st story to a restaurant that will serve ice cream, beer, wine, and other food items. Interior non-structural demolition work was done under permit BLD17-01065. Egress from this tenant space is directly to the outside at grade. Work is to include a new toilet room accessible to the disabled (2 total provided), interior nonbearing walls, a kitchen with kitchen equipment, two new exterior overhead doors that drop to the surface of new counter tops, exterior walls below the countertops, steel columns and headers to support the new overhead doors, a fixed 42” high standing bar, a grease interceptor, a water heater platform above the existing restroom, a suspended ceiling grid with vinyl faced ceiling panels, gypsum board ceilings, an exterior awning, and interior finishes. For the steel columns and headers at the new overhead doors, Special Inspection is required for welding and for anchors post installed in hardened concrete. Cooking operations that create grease laden vapors are not allowed within this tenant space. An exterior dining area surrounded by a 36” high fence and having 30 chairs will be created. The existing interior concrete floor will be saw cut to facilitate the insulation of under slab plumbing. The concrete floor slab will be patched after the plumbing is installed and the trenches are backfilled. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
