The fire sprinkler system is used for high rise and for occupancy. To convert a conference room into a 569 square foot Men’s locker room and to convert a waiting room into a 1,085 square foot Women’s locker room. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, about 58 square feet of concrete filler floor slab over an existing ramp to create a level floor, suspended acoustical ceilings, lockers, benches, and finishes. All 2-hr shaft enclosures for stairways, 2-hr mechanical shafts, 1-hr smoke barriers creating smoke compartments, smoke partitions creating I-2 rated corridors, and smoke partitions creating care suites are required to be maintained. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including quick-response heads installed within the remodeled areas) and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**.
