INSTALL NEW PENDENT HEADS TO THE NEW WALL AND CEILING LOCATIONS.

The fire sprinkler system is used for high rise and for occupancy. Demolition work within the existing Electrophysiology (EP) Lab includes removing existing medical equipment, Unistrut ceiling support grid, casework, wall coverings, floor coverings, interior walls, suspended acoustical ceilings, furniture, and cabinets. To remodel the existing Electrophysiology (EP) Lab on the 3rd story of St. Luke’s Hospital located just Northwest of the South Wing. The remodeled lab will have a floor area of about 1,250 square feet (about 286 square feet smaller than before). The new medical equipment has both floor-mounted components and components suspended from the ceiling. Work is to include floor mounting plates attached with through-bolts to the existing 4” concrete floor slab to support new floor mounted equipment, a ceiling plate hung from the floor above using expansion anchors to support the new power boom, a new Unistrut support grid hung from the floor above using expansion anchors and having diagonal lateral load bracing elements used to support new suspended medical equipment, a new door in the wall of an I-2 rated corridor that is also a care suite wall, a new cased opening in an existing wall where the concrete floor is continuous through the opening, new interior walls, new lead shielding, new interior doors, suspended acoustical ceilings, cabinets, furred walls, medical equipment, and finishes. The existing medical gas system will also be altered. Holes will be core drilled through the floor of the 3rd story. Some cabinet work will also be done within the cine viewing room located on the 3rd story of the South Wing. While transporting the old and new medical equipment through the building and while staging for installation, floors and elevators are not allowed to be overloaded. Special Inspection is required for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. The installation and use of X-ray equipment, including shielding at new and existing walls, is required to comply with all applicable Industry, State, and Federal regulations. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including quick-response heads installed within the remodeled areas) and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
