Description
To lower the window sill heights of two existing emergency escape and rescue opening windows in two existing sleeping rooms located in an existing 960 square foot Single Family Dwelling. One window is located in the North wall and the other in the South wall. The existing windows will be replaced with new windows having a minimum net clear opening height of 24 inches, minimum net clear opening width of 20 inches, and an overall minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet. The Building Official has determined carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards to be specific hazards associated with buildings and/or structures without smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes. Carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards are substantial hazards because the likelihood of death and or injury from said hazards increases in buildings and/or structures. The existing portions of buildings or structures with non-existent or inadequate smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes must be retrofitted to meet current code requirements. A certificate of completion shall be issued when work is completed and a final inspection has occurred. **SRZ**
