Description |
Alteration to an existing single wide mobile home in an existing park per the approved plans, attached plan review report, engineering, and the structural inspector final approval. Work to include: Remove 2 feet of exterior wall from the rear of the mobile home per the engineers recommendation report; construct means of egress landings, stairs, handrails, and guards if over 30" above grade; complete a standard set installation per the IMHIS. The inspector will verify that setbacks meet the City's recommendation and that tie downs meet manufacturer's requirements. Documents pertaining to tie down requirements must be at the job site at the time of inspection. This inspection is required prior to occupancy. A separate electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical permit may be required. The Building Official has determined carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards to be specific hazards associated with buildings and/or structures without smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes. Carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards are substantial hazards because the likelihood of death and or injury from said hazards increases in buildings and/or structures. The existing portions of buildings or structures with non-existent or inadequate smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes must be retrofitted to meet current code requirements.**SRZ**
