This project is for the addition of a new 12 square foot shower pop-out in an existing bathroom and a new attached wood deck to an existing 1,240 square foot 1-story single family dwelling. All work per the approved plans, attached plan review report, and adopted codes. The Building Official has determined carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards to be specific hazards associated with buildings and/or structures without smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes. Carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards are substantial hazards because the likelihood of death and or injury from said hazards increases in buildings and/or structures. The existing portions of buildings or structures with non-existent or inadequate smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes must be retrofitted to meet current code requirements. **SRZ**
