Met with the tenants on site to discuss this and offer a new alternate option. The options I listed on the new updated correction notice is 1) Need to install a type 1 hood above the commercial cooking appliances per 507.2.1 of the 2012 IMC. 2) As an alternate option the City will accept changing the commercial gas range out with a domestic range and installing a UL300A hood above it per the hoods listing. 3) Still need to apply for a change of occupancy permit. After discussing it with the tenants they have decided to go with the domestic range and the UL300A hood option. I gave them the time frame of 45-60 days to get this completed.

Received email from AJ- she stated that she thought city was closed so she hasnt proceeded forward per a converstation. I called and talked with her by phone this morning and stated weve been open all the time and she will need to proceed with getting an engineer

call ###-#### to let her know time - Went by to address cooking appliances with out a proper hood installed. Found a commercial gas open top range and an electric oven installed with only a domestic range hood above the open top range. We instructed the tenant that a class 1 hood is required above the gas range per the IMC. The oven requires a minium of a class 2 hood be installed above it, unless engineering is provided showing the HVAC system is large enough to compensate for the heat and moisture from the oven. If this is the case a general exhaust for the kitchen will still be needed. Additionally the tenant is operationg under a previous Certificate of Occupancy. I gave the tenant 90 days to complete the corrections and suggested that the tenant get a Engineer involved to figure out the best approach for her to get this corrected and also told her she needs to get her Certificate of Occupnacy changed to her company name.
