(1518 W FORT) This permit is to allow the first story of the building to be used as an office space per CAA17-00091 and evaluate the building under the IBC. The use of the building is consistant with the previous use with a second story R-3 residential unit and an office space on the first story. The most recent remodel of the space was completed under BLD18-04442 under the IRC, however the main floor only recieved minor modifications with the R-3 unit being fully renovated. As these uses are not being changed from previously established uses no sprinklers or rated separations are being required between the R-3 and the B occupancy. The B, first story area is 1,261 sq. ft and the R-3 area is 1,556 sq. ft. No new work is being done under tis permit. Any future renovaions of either space will be required to comply with the IBC unles the entire building is converted to a single family dwelling. CDM

No fire sprinklers, smoke detectors are stand alone and not monitored, fire extinguishers are placed with current inspection tags. Final life fire safety inspection for area of work complete.

Provide fire extinguisher for level 2 residential area, extinguisher can be placed under kitchen sink as discussed. A monitored smoke detector is installed on the B occupancy side of the building, per conversation with Lee Meridith, Fire Alarm Plan Reviewer, the fire alarm system is not required due to type of occupancy, if fire alarm system stays in place then a seperate FIR permit and fire alarm review is required.
