(SOUTHMINISTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH – EAST OF FIRE WALL INCLUDING ADDITION) (CUP19-00082, CUP18-00074, CUP16-00058) This building does not have a fire sprinkler system. To construct a 909 square foot addition to an existing 13,730 square foot building (10,350 square foot 1st story and 3,380 square foot basement). After the addition, the 1st story will have a total floor area of about 11,259 square feet (14,639 square feet for the entire building including the basement). After the addition and remodel, the area East of the fire wall will have a total floor area of about 6,568 square feet and a total occupant load of 515. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete foundations, concrete slab on grade, wood stud exterior bearing and nonbearing walls with headers at openings, shear walls with hold downs, fiber cement siding, exterior brick veneer wainscot, exterior windows, exterior doors, an interior bearing wall, engineered wood roof trusses with wood sheathing, composition shingles, interior nonbearing walls, two single-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled, a “high” and a “low” drinking fountain, interior doors, millwork, and finishes. Special Inspection is required for soils and for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. A trench for electrical conduit and a water pipe will be created through the existing concrete slab on grade in the Narthex. Work includes backfill and concrete patches. A 2-hr fire wall will be constructed to divide this building into two “buildings” and two fire areas. This permit is intended to establish a new Certificate of Occupancy for the building area East of the fire wall. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The design for the pre-engineered wood trusses is a deferred submittal item. The fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
