The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting a new school which is being converted from an existing strip. There are two building. This is building one. There will be two new 4” dry pipe systems with above and below protection. Some of the above protection will be combustible concealed spaced sprinklers.

Plan Mod #1 – 4/11/2017
Revised the protection in the attic. Removed some CC2 sprinklers and added some CC2 sprinklers elsewhere.

[BLD16-00124] – This project also being done in conjunction with BLD16-00161 on same set of plans. Remodel of an existing 24,500 sq. ft. office/retail building into new educational charter school with new classrooms and school administration offices per approved plans. New parking lot design and outdoor area for the kids. Work to include seismic upgrade from Risk Category II to Risk Category III, new interior walls, interior finish, fire sprinkler work, fire alarm work, plumbing work, mechanical work, and electrical work. Special Inspections required for structural steel, concrete and soils. This building is fully Fire Sprinklered with an approved Fire Alarm system. Any alterations or modifications to the buildings Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm system WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE PERMIT and shall be installed per NFPA 13 & NFPA 72 as regulated by the Boise Fire Department. **ajs**

The fire alarm system was not ready to verify the tamper/flow/pressure switches, need system zone map, signage on door, and plan modifications showing the dry pipe valves used. Also missing the spare sprinkler cabinet. The forward flush test passed.

Rough-in inspection passed for piping from the south end to the CMU wall as marked on the plans. Piping can be covered except around the sky lights. Mark is going to follow up on the need for sidewalls in the two sky lights.

Todays inspection was for another area for cover. I stopped inspection when I found missing uprights in canopy and different heads installed in building. Plans need to be provided/submitted that show the actual heads installed. I gave the ok to cover in the previous area where upright have been removed and batt insulation provided.

This inspection was actually performed on 4/10/17 but was input under the wrong permit number.

Rough to cover inspection passed for area marked on the city approved plans. I noted one missing sprig up that was being installed as I waited. East canopy has not been built or piping installed yet. Plans need to be resubmitted for approval showing the changing of the standard heads to the CC2's prior to more cover inspections being approved.
