The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of adding, plugging and relocating sprinklers to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration. A new double interlock preaction system is being added to the freezers.

The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. Interior nonstructural demolition work was done under permit BLD18-00076. To completely renovate a 11,653 square foot tenant space for a blood plasma collection facility where no one will be incapable of self-preservation. Work is to include a 400 square foot recessed concrete slab on grade to accommodate the floor thickness of a new walk-in freezer; concrete floor patches at plumbing trenches; concrete footings, steel columns, and a steel beam to redirect roof gravity loads where a column will be removed; structural upgrades to the roof structure to support new roof top HVAC units; exterior concrete landings, ramps, rails, and awnings at the back exterior doors; new concrete stem walls where existing exterior doors will be removed in the storefront; interior nonbearing walls; suspended acoustical ceilings; gypsum board soffits and bulkheads; 2 multi-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled for the public; 2 multi-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled for employees; interior windows; interior doors; double-acting gates; service counters; new storefront doors and windows; millwork; equipment; furniture, and interior finishes. Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, masonry, welding, and epoxy anchors and other anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. The West awnings are allowed to be deferred submittal items. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including quick-response heads installed in light-hazard areas) and the partial fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
