The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of new pharmacy/mercantile building with a mezzanine. The 6” underground supplies a 6” backflow preventer and 6” riser. The system is design as a 4”x2”x2” grid.

The fire sprinkler system is used for fire area. Three buildings and the East end of an existing retail sales building will be demolished to accommodate this new development. To construct a 12,648 square foot building (14,476 square feet including the 1,828 square foot enclosed mezzanine) to be used as a pharmacy and for retail sales. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete foundations, concrete slab on grade with slab edge insulation, masonry exterior walls, insulation installed on the inside of the masonry exterior walls, EIFS installed on the outside of masonry exterior walls, steel roof joists, steel roof deck, insulation installed on top of the roof deck, a roof membrane, exterior windows, exterior doors, an exterior roll-up door at the receiving area, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board soffits, a VRC (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor) with shallow pit and gates, a horizontal sliding security grill at the pharmacy, a hatch and ladder to the roof, interior nonbearing walls, two toilet rooms accessible to the disabled, display shelves, millwork, and finishes. Mezzanine work includes concrete footings, steel columns, steel girders, steel beams, concrete floor on a steel deck, and a steel stairway. Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, masonry, anchors post-installed in hardened concrete or masonry, welding, and EIFS. All of the storage and display shelves will be less than 8 feet high. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. This permit is intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for this tenant and for the entire building. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**

This project includes approved code alternates to the following fire protection systems and/or building life safety systems. Please review the supplemental documents attached to this building permit case for details. Fire protection “shop drawings” shall include approved code alternate design.
• There are AMM on this project but they do not pertain to the fire protection.
