The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. To construct a new 37,182 square foot warehouse shell building (380’ x 100’ exterior dimensions). Work is to include concrete footings, concrete tilt-up wall panels, concrete floor sabs on grade, steel columns with steel baseplates and anchors, steel roof girder trusses, steel roof trusses, metal roof deck, insulation on top of the roof deck, single-ply TPO roof membrane, domed plastic skylights, wall insulation, exterior overhead doors, exterior storefront windows, exterior doors, exterior steel stairways with steel landings, two trash enclosures with steel gates, steel awnings with steel support tie-back rods, a keystone block retaining wall at the sloped grade, a 40 foot wide concrete apron at the loading dock area, and a 1-hr fire sprinkler riser room with an exterior door. Special inspection is required for soils, concrete, steel (including welding and bolting), and anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. Future roof top HVAC units weighing 750 pounds each were anticipated. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. This permit is not intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any portion of this building. Separate permits are required to establish occupancy. A service sink and perhaps drinking fountains and two toilet rooms for each tenant space will be required. **CJW**

This project includes approved code alternates to the following fire protection systems and/or building life safety systems. Please review the supplemental documents attached to this building permit case for details. Fire protection “shop drawings” shall include approved code alternate design.
