Description	(ST LUKES-WEST WING - BASEMENT THROUGH 3RD FLOOR) To upgrade structural integrity of the exterior walls to comply with "I" occupancy seismic requirements of the 1997 UBC, by installing engineered, epoxy attached reinforcement to interior face of existing unreinforced brick masonry; adding several inches of shotcrete overlay; pouring reinforced interior concrete shear walls; cut new 8'-0" x 8'-6" opening between west wing and area to east; remove old overbuild floor & replace with non-combustible structure, steel decking & concrete; and miscellaneous upgrade of openings; all per approved plans notes & attachments. SPECIAL INSPECTION REQUIRED FOR EPOXY CONNECTIONS, WELDING, SHOTCRET PLACEMENT, REINFORCED CONCRETE & HIGH STRENGTH BOLTS PER SHEET S-1. Work to be done in two phases as indicated on sheet A1.1. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinkled. Work will be done while maintining occupancy use of all areas currently occupied, Gen. Note #3, Sheet S-1. (P.C.#659-00)/drs
