Carl Westfall (plans examiner) met briefly with Mike Nye (contractor) about this project. It appears that he installed an exterior door in addition to what was specifically covered by this permit. Mr. Nye was told that the project engineer needed to evaluate the work and verify that it is adequate. The engineer was to provide a letter. Mr. Nye was also told to prepare an updated Certificate of Value including the added value for the added work. Both items were to be presented to the Inspector during the next inspection. After consulting with George Slane (chief building inspector) it was discovered that better direction could have been given by Mr. Westfall. Mr. Slane agreed to work together to resolve this issue. Updating this permit to include the added work is the most expeditious way to handle it. Additional fees would then be charged based on the new Certificate of Value. It was not known who has the authority to updated the permit after the permit has been issued to reflect this minor addition to the scope of work.
