*BOISE POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAINING CENTER* To combine two tenant spaces and the North half of a third (1/2 of 6165 & all of 6167 & 6169 Clinton) for use by the Boise Police Department as Training Classrooms & Administration Offices. To remodel portions within the existing 5,376 sq. ft. building, currently in use as a BPD Training & Adminsitration Center. To remove interior non-bearing walls to create a new training classroom, and a larger office, reception & lobby areas; to reuse some of the removed doors to close existing wall openings( must comply with current code to be reused); and to demolish existing restroom walls on two sides and construct new walls, access & restroom ceiling to provide unisex accessible restroom. To relocate fixture's W/I restroom for compliance with CABO/ANSI A117.1-92. Construction to be of wood or steel studs with sheetrock cover; 2" x 4" ceiling joists with sheetrock at restroom ceiling and repair of suspended ceiling & walls to match existing. To upgrade tenant separation wall to meet one-hour construction & provide 20 minute, self-closing, "S" labeled doors at all door openings through the tenant separation wall per note 11 of the attached plan review comments. All per approved plans, red-line notes & plan review comments attached. Review remainder of building for any imminent hazards. The scope of this work includes obtaining a certificate of occupancy for the tenant space when project is completed. (P.C.#721-00)/drs

Reviewed the information on the different tenants with Sam Rogers, fire code analyst, and told him I would be modifying my plan review to reflect the tenant separation wall, reduced tenant area and occupant load when the plans were returned to me after fire dept. review. I have reflected the changes with red-line comments on plans & Fire Department report. Change will not effect any of the fire code plan review comments beyond the information contained within the SCOPE pertion of the report reducing the area and number of tenant spaces combined.

Called Lance Fish, Olson & Assoc. to see who the tenant is in the East portion of the building as the plans do not reflect a 1-hour tenant separation wall with rated doors per section 4-02-14, BCC, adding section 510 to UBC for tenant separation.
Lance thought the space was used by Police Dept. also. I called for Sgt. Gary Compton to find out if the area was used as an office. When Sgt. Compton returned my call, I was told the East portion of building was used by another tenant. I have changed the plan review comments to reflect the new information and required the tenant separation wall & opening protection to be upgraded by the tenant.
