Approved based on notes on plans, comments in body of permit and plan review comments attached to the plans. Discussed project with Sam Rogers & Bill Alexander, Fire Code Analysts to review scope of work and if I could make comments with my plan review and issue the permit without routing to them to reduce time to issue permit. I have made statement concerning a portible fire extinguisher per section 1002 UFC & UFC Standard 10-1 as approved by the fire inspector in the field. The owner made comment on his application stating that an alarm system was to be installed.I called the electrical contractor, the architect and tried to call the owner but was unsuccessful. The electrician stated the scope of work involved installation of two 120 volt electric / 9 volt battery backup smoke detectors to be placed in the hall. I noted that this would require plans, application, approval & and alarm permit. He stated the alarms are not required. I told him that if alarms are installed, they have to be installed to comply with adopted codes and alrm permits are required. I have noted this as well as Sam Rogers phone number in the body of the permit and the plan review comments.

Took plans to desk of Sam Rogers to review scope of work and if the they wanted to review the plans or if I could make comments as part of my review and required the filed fire inspector to review and approve as condition of final of permit and use of the new areas. Sam said to enter comment about the protable fire extinguisher requirements. Preparation to issue permit revealed the owner had inluded a value for an alarm system in his certificate of value. This was reviewed with both Sam and Bill and I will note in my comments and in the permit that a separate submittal of application and alarm plans are required and a separate permit before any installation in stated.
