(Fire blocks and draft stops) In combustible construction, fireblocking and draftstopping shall be installed to cut off all concealed draft openings (both vertical and horizontal) and shall form an effective barrier between floors, between a top story and a roof or attic space, and shall subdivide attic spaces, concealed roof spaces and floor-ceiling assemblies. The integrity of all fire blocks and draft stops shall be maintanined. (1997 UBC 708.1) 2. maintane 1 hr. occ septration at grage to r1 rock and fire stop at ele pannel box. 3. bearing blk under mlb to window header 4. insulate 2nd floor rim joist. 5. seal top plates in grage and ele ceilling boxes to meet bcic.
