(FULTON STREET ANNEX - SHELL ONLY) This building is fire sprinklered to substitute for 1-hr fire-resistive construction. To modify an existing building shell (North portion of an existing building). An interior 1-hr stair enclosure is being constructed and a seismic upgrade performed. Work is to include 1-hr walls, an interior masonry shear wall, plywood sheathing overlay on the 2nd floor and roof, through bolt tiebacks between walls and diaphragms, a partial reconstruction of the 2nd floor, and an open stairway between the 2nd floor and the 3rd level all per approved drawings, engineering, and plan review conditions on file. The 1994 UCBC was used to regulate the seismic upgrade and to define code compliance of existing historic building features. NO OCCUPANCY IS ALLOWED UNDER THIS PERMIT. The South portion of this building is currently occupied by the Contemporary Theater. A non-structural demolition permit (BLD01-00993) was issued earlier. The existing fire sprinkler system shall be maintained operational. THE STRUCTURAL DESIGNS FOR THE STAIRWAYS AND THE WEST AWNING WERE APPROVED TO BE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL ITEMS.
