Routing - PLAN CHECK5/9/20015/9/20015/9/2001 FAIL
Incomplete and incorrect in formation submitted by architect and structural engineer. Did not receive any Interlake engineering design, specifications & loading tables for the racks; discussion with the tenant disclosed the racks are not new but used; racks are 8 foot in width for the most part as well as the 12 foot shown on plans; engineering reflects load reduction of 50% for seismic per section 2228 UBC but in one direction the four columns in a line are not met - reduction may not be allowed; size of base plate with spacing of connections need to verified against Table 3 of ER-5788 for possible reduction of anchor load resistance capabilities; etc. I have called and left message for the architect, Matt Rhees & Engineer, Darren Truchot with my concerns and will formulate a letter to them. Plans are on hold until re-submittals are received to answere concerns.
Telephone call  5/9/2001 DONE
Called Darren Truchot, Pinnale Engineering to see if he had engineering design specifications for Interlake racks showing load capabilities, column, beam & base plate dimensions & load capabilities; discuss the 50% reduction used for seismic design per section 2228 UBC; the load limits to be placed on the rack beams to comply with 2222.5, for each beam type (96" & 144") where he designed only for the 144" beam .
Telephone call  5/9/2001 DONE
Matt Rhees, Cole | Assoc. to review the plan layout submitted and to let him know the engineering submitted was incomplete and that I had called Darren Truchot.
Telephone call  5/9/2001 DONE
Call Joel Wood, manager of Idaho Specialized Transportation, Inc. to see if he had information on the new steel storage racks to be installed. I was told that they were not new but existing racks of a previous tenant and that moer of them were 8 feet in width than 12 feet. Joel also had somr rack information from the original rack owner and hed would dend this information to me.
