Description	(CAPITOL TERRACE - ESCALATOR REPLACEMENT) Fire sprinklers used to meet high-rise provisions. To install a new escalator between the first floor and second floor of an existing building. The escalator support beam on the second floor is being relocated. Below the new escalator, a 60 square foot ticket booth is being constructed. Also, a portion of the existing escalator opening in the second floor is being filled in. New support beams and a 125 square foot concrete floor slab will be constructed. Work is to include floor beams, a floor slab, fire-resistive protection, interior nonbearing walls, guardrail, windows, door, service counter, and escalator all per approved drawings, engineering, and plan review conditions on file. The location of fire sprinkler heads shall comply with NFPA 13-1999 as regulated by the Fire Department. The new escalator shall comply with ASME/ANSI A17.1-1987. The old escalator was removed under demolition permit BLD01-02554. PC-0685-01 CJW
