Review of files and history for tenant space 2033 N. 35th Street, BLD99-02137, I learned that the original tenant, Candid Critters, had not been issued a Certificate of Occupancy. Discussion with Tricia Callies, property manager, revealed that the current tenant in the space is "Kayes Closet" had they had occupied this space before the other permit was completed. As part of this occupancy, plans re-submittals had been submitted to the structural inspector for his determination on method of processing. A copy of the approved changes had not been submitted to the Records Division as a replacement for the original approved plans. I ask Tricia Callies for a copy of the plans for our records be submitted from the architect, Kyle Fruetel, BRS architects.
Plans presented indicated that a new suspended ceiling grid system, interior wall demolition and construction of new partitions to create dressing rooms had been done. New electrical for wall outlets and new ceiling light fixture's had been done and two new furnaces and air conditioners had been installed. The existing small restroom had been upgraded to make it more accessibile and original plans indicated that it would be fully accessible, but the actual as-built indicates that some modifications were not made and the toilet location is not in compliance per a filed inspection done by Bob Archibald on 9/17-18/01, when he visited the site to observe what had been done. Review of permit issued for this site after the original '99 permit indicate ELE99-01709 & ELE00-03930 for electrical upgrade; PLM00-03693 for a plumbing ruff-in was obtained (did not cover the installation & fixture costs based on C.V. of $300.00); and a mechanical permit for two new furnaces and air conditioners was taken out for 3504 state street (Deli & Decantur restaurant) but the work was done within 2033 N 35th St., per note of inspection recorded by Dixie Fellows, mechanical inspector. I reviewed the case with Linda Hartwell and she tied the MEC permit for the furnaces to the 2033 address and made note to call Tricia Callies for a final 'certificate of value' for BLD99-02137 and the additional work done.

Met with April Miller to see if new address was approved for this site. I gave her copy of the addresses proposed and she checked them out and noted them for her records and approved those for this building.

Bob stopped by to say the work had been done as shown on the plans from Tricia and that the restroom was not fully accessible as the toilet was centered in the five foot width rather than being 18" from one wall to the centerline of toilet and 42" from center line to the other. Bob reported two 75,000 BTU furnaces and new furnace room and that the dressing rooms installed as part of Kaye's Closet did not provide at least one accessible unit. Bob also reported that Randy Callies was in the 2031 N. 35th St. tenant site doing work but he had not stopped him until a permit was obtained.

Copies of the original plans, plans submitted by Tricia Callies and copy of the plan modification from Kyle Fruetell were presented to Bob Archibald for review and determination of what had been modified with approval by the structural inspector and report back so I could determine haw to proceed with the new permit for 2031 N. 35 St.

Called Tricia Callies to let her know that I had given copies of plan & past inspection reports for the 2033 N 35th St, Critter Candids, BLD99-02137, to Bob Archibald for his review and determination of what was approved by structural division as result of plan resubmittal given to the structural field inspector after the permit had been issued. I gave her Bob's number to call to review the project with him if she desired. Tricia thought that it had been Bob that had approved the other modifications on the plans. I also told Tricia she need to talk with April Miller in addressing to obtain address for the new tenant and make sure addresses being used are okay and noted on our addressing system.

Met with Tricia Callies to review plans she wanted to present for review for issuance of a new tenant permit. The meeting revealed work done beyond the limits of the origianl plan submittal for 2033 N 35th St for Candid Critter's. I ask Tricia to provide evidence that work additional done under BLD99-02137 had been submitted to the structural inspector and the plans approved and that all work had been inspected and approved. I ask if a Certificate of Occupancy had been issued to Candid Critters. Tricia stated that she new inspections had been done and thought a C.O. had been issued but that the tenant was Kaye's Closet not Steffani of "Candid Critters". Steffani had moved back to Montana.Tricia was to provide evidence that work was permitted and inspected through the approval of the modifications by the strucutral division. I told her I would present my findings to Bob Archibald, Structural Inspector supervisor for his review and approval to see if a C.O. could be issued to Kaye's Closet based on inspection actions.
