Retaining walls that were constructed behind the house were not done in accordance with the originally approved grading plan. The construction of the walls was not inspected and a subsequent inspection by the block supplier indicated that the as built walls were unsafe and should be rebuilt. The house was inadvertently finaled before this was done. Plans have now been approved that will have the walls rebuilt in the originally approved configuration. The design was revised from a series of concrete walls to keystone with geogrid reinforcement. The construction of the walls must be inspected and approved by the design engineer.
