This project is to enclose an existing 542s.f. carport that is at a property line and must have a 1-hour wall with 1" air space adjacent to wall of garage next door. Wall per 1997 UBC 709.4.1 # 5, paraput is not required. Framing to be 16" o.c. Inspection is to be made to confirm the 1" air space and the draft stopping of same prior to closure of the wall.
